Print About Print
We first came across the gem that is The Print Handbook at the beginning of the year. It’s a great piece of reference for designers and has a fabulous foiled cover to boot.
The book contains all the finer points of design that a designer would always want visually and tangibly to-hand, such as line weights, tints and shades, standard point and leading sizes, glyph info; the list goes on! Each page also contains a full spec of the processes used on that spread.
Because it’s so rare with the work we show, to get pics of the blocks used for the foiling – and they are so often a thing of beauty – we had to include the image here.
As a treat, and it seemed a crime not to acknowledge the extent of work gone into the piece, we have also shown the press photos of several pages of the book, which although don’t fit with the foil and letterpress dedication of the site, we know you will love as much as we do!

It’s definitely worth it. We were using it just last night to see a quick view of 5pt type!
